When I'm a vampire, I'll eat food to keep me from feeling hungry for...well, you know. But it leaves a bit of a headache; not much of one, mind you, it's like a paper cut--you hardly notice it after a while. But I've had it for years, and now it's gone. It's wonderful, Alice!

[She hugs him back, but unfortunately for Horst, this is Alice Liddell, her curiosity and persistence is renowned (quite literally in both senses of the word). She is not satisfied with his answer because no event should make his nose look like that.]

He found out about something I had done wrong. Something that I'm very, very sorry for--but he was still upset by it.

[That.... particular subject makes her stop breathing for a few seconds. Her fingers curl against his sides and she has to look down and away. Because it still hurts and it still scares her. She doesn't know what was taken from Horst but she's just scared. She watched him die and couldn't do anything to stop him. She couldn't do anything because he never said anything to her. He had kept all those thoughts, that... plan, to himself and she was left to watch along with everyone else helplessly as Horst greeted the sun. She doesn't know why he did it, he never told her. She just never wanted to go through it again.]

H-Horst... [She hides her face in her hands and if he still had his vampiric powers he could probably hear her heart racing and pounding in her ribcage.] He still s-shouldn't have hit you.
