Away. Call it my own, personal cure, because alcohol? [And she arches a somewhat amused eyebrow at the bottle in his hand.] Not such a good idea with me.

[She does have the grace to look a little abashed, though.] Sorry I haven't exactly kept in touch. I guess I got a little wigged out when I got my memories back.

[Oh, that's not a story she's giving away willingly. He can just forget it.] Let's just say someone spiked the beer when I was in college, and Buffy had a little too much to drink. You can use your imagination from there.

Yeah, I guess I am. As much fun as it was being all solitary and avoidy [which is to say, no fun at all], it gets old after awhile. I figured I needed to suck it up and get back out there.

[She pauses for a moment before glancing off screen- after all, she's been half trying to keep an eye on William, but since he seems busy, she shrugs.] Why not. Just don't get any ideas about seeing what happens when Buffy gets drunk, because it's not gonna happen.

Oh god, Spike's been telling stories? [It's the only thing that makes sense, since she knows they've been talking. She's going to kill him... when he's not being sweet, innocent, and William.] Don't believe a word of it.

I'll be over there in a bit. Just give me a few minutes to make sure everything's good here. [AKA, make sure William doesn't get in trouble while she's gone. And then the PCD clicks off.

[Soon enough, there's a Buffy making her way up to his roof, carrying what looks like a bottle of something nonalcoholic in one hand. She smiles a little sheepishly when she comes closer, waving.]

Hey there. I hope you didn't run into any of the madness down there?

[She takes the cup with a smile, but glances out over the side of the roof at the question.] Nope. I can be good at avoiding when I need to, and there's not so much that can phase me. I'm more worried about Spike getting into trouble the way he is. Have you seen him? [And there's a little bit of worry in her tone here.]

You mean 'William'? He popped up for a drink earlier.

He's...very different as a human. I didn't expect that.

[He holds up a hand as if to settle some of that worry she has] He's all right, though. I've been keeping an ear out for him. I may not be able to beat off the rogue death gods, but being able to hear for miles has to come in handy, eh?

Yeah. Vampires are a little different in our dimension. Human dies and becomes a vampire, the soul goes to hell and a demon takes over the body. And generally- not good guys. Spike's kinda special. [Not completely unique, since- Angel, but even then it's different. Even as a demon, Spike loved.] He got his soul back.

Miles? [That gets a blink of surprise out of her.] Really? That's kinda nifty, and really long range.

[Buffy arches her eyebrow a little at that.] You'll have to show me sometime. After all, all talk and no show makes you no fun.
