[Horst doesn't want to let go of Yuca, and he can't move away from the kick so he takes it full on. Luckily he doesn't need to breathe so it doesn't knock the wind out of him; it does, however, knock him backwards, but since he has a supernaturally-stubborn grip on Yuca he pulls the other man with him]
[Yuca tumbles on top of him to try to avoid breaking his wrist, still refusing to let go of his sword. Once they're down on the ground, Yuca grits his teeth and aims a punch for Horst's cheek with his other hand.]
[Horst's instincts are to pin and bite, and he tries to look past those and to the many barfights he's been in. He's not a violent person by nature, is the problem, and he's especially afraid of hurting Yuca.
The blow to his head knocks some sense into him, but it also stuns him momentarily and his grip slackens.]
[Yuca takes the opportunity to roll off of him and spring to his feet, eyes slightly narrowed as he lets for a little distance between then, giving Horst time to stand up.]
Next time, try rolling. Even when you're wrestling on the ground, the person on their back has the disadvantage.
[Calmly. He's used to fighting. He doesn't mind it.]
[Yuca tries to take another step back- Horst is faster than he is, and this body isn't particularly muscular or lithe. He has to make do, but he can't stop Horst from moving closer.]
[He raises his eyebrow and lets go of his sword suddenly to try and knock the vampire off-balance, in favor of delivering another kick to Horst's side.]
Good. But the sword isn't the only weapon. You can't just focus on that- my hands and feet can be just as dangerous.
[Though Horst is stronger, Yuca has the advantage of training and leverage; he has to let go to catch himself. In spite of the blows, he's grinning, he's only just realized.
[Yuca's eyes narrow slightly as Horst gets the sword, taking a small step back and sliding easily into a martial arts position, resting dominantly on his back leg as he lifted his front up until only his toes touched the dirt.]
...think of the blade as an extension of your arm. Don't swing it around- keep it close to your body and you'll have better control over it. I have a shorter reach then you, so there's no need to try to overextend yourself to get at me.
[Horst doesn't know enough to recognize Yuca's stance; he just knows there's more finesse in it than there has been in the fights he's been in before. He steps back into what he vaguely recalls is a fencing stance. Shame he dropped that class after two days....]
Stomach, chest, head. Stomach is preferable, since the chest is protected and the head is a small target. If you want to do damage, get out of that stance. Fencing is nice, but it's only applicable if you're accurate and have a rapier or some sort of sword like it. Stand with your sword side toward me, feet shoulder width apart. It makes you a smaller target and keeps your weapon between you and me.
[He listens to him, bored, watching the wall behind Horst, and wondering if he could make it home before the morning rose. When the vampire set the sword down, Yuca was positive that he had given up.
At the sudden attack, he was caught off-guard, and bent over a little around Horst's fist, making a strangled sound, his eyes wide. Winded, but not incapacitated, Yuca wrapped a hand around Horst's wrist and used it to hold him there, hissing as his other hand snapped out to punch Horst in turn.]
[Horst had started to move forward, to push Yuca off balance; that unfortunately makes Yuca's punch hit even harder. Even if he can't have the wind knocked out of him, it does make him gasp, for a moment his fangs are undeniably visible as what they are.
Then he grabs Yuca's shoulder with his free hand and tries to knock him sideways onto one of the benches]
[Yuca is able to catch only a glimpse of Horst's fangs before he's shoved over the edge of the bench, the hand he'd used to punch him fisting in his shirt and pulling him down alongside with him as he lands on his back in one of the cushions on the pews, before kicking and rolling to shove Horst sideways onto the floor.]
[Horst is knocked off, and though he's kept a steeled grip on Yuca, he knocks his head on the concrete floor and it stuns him briefly. Still, he tries to punch Yuca, this time in the face]
[This has... sort of turned into something more than a simple teaching. Yuca wasn't even instructing him anymore- the blows had hurt, and as petty as it was, he wanted to reciprocate. It could possibly be said the same of Horst- he'd had to endure Yuca hitting him and cutting him for awhile now, and he'd finally gotten a few punches in not to mention finally being able to vent the whole frustration that comes from just being Horst.
Yuca's head snaps to the side as the punch makes contact with his jaw, and moves to stomp his foot over the vampire's chest, not able to aim all that well due to the previous blow.]
[Horst rolls to the side, under the pew and then he gets up on the other side. If nothing else, it seems he was listening when this was still a lesson.
His shirt is ripped in at least three places, but the cuts have stopped bleeding at least. He eyes Yuca, and for a moment becomes distracted by the scars on Yuca's neck.
Then he jumps over the bench between them, to tackle Yuca to the ground]
[Yuca puts his arms up as he's forced off of the pew and on his back against the ground with Horst's bulk, kicking out against him. He's stronger than he should be, and a little bit faster than Yuca is really sure is possible.
Angel, a little voice in his head says, and Yuca can't hesitate because he's fighting, but where the hell did that come from?]
[Offline] EEEE DO WANNNNT
Something that won't leave you open to a counterattack.
[As if on cue, Yuca lifts his leg to aim a kick squarely toward Horst's stomach to get him away.]
[Offline] I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE A 'REVIVE HORST' CAMPAIGN
[Offline] ngl, I wouldn't object to that

You do this a lot?
[He moves fast--not as fast as he can move, there's no blurring or disappearing--in an effort to get to a more advantageous position]

Should I aim for anything in particular?

I don't really want to try to stab you. Long bits of metal make me a bit nervous.

[As if to prove this, Yuca sidesteps quickly into Horst's range, bringing his wrist up to parry the flat of the blade as he moves in to strike again.]
[Offline]
[He's cut off when Yuca moves. Horst moves with the blade, avoiding being hit and stepping around to try to corner Yuca against the pews]

Then coming here was a waste of my time.

[He taps the flat of the blade on Yuca's shoulder, half-knighting him, and then sets it down on one of the pews]
I didn't say I wouldn't fight you.
[That said he moves to hit Yuca in the stomach]
