You know, it's summer and I'm sleeping quite a bit more--consider it my hibernation period. But that's really not much of an excuse not to get to know all these newcomers, especially with so many people leaving....

I'm Horst Cabal. I run a bar, sometimes. I'm going to start a school--everyone is welcome to attend or teach a class.

[Horst can judge it means she trusts him quite a lot already.] But I can never meet him or talk to him where Lucifer could see. Because it would break the truce between them and endanger Castiel. [She sighs, an impatient sigh. It's hard sometimes, not to be able to outwardly support him.] He carved sigils into my bones and now Lucifer can't sense my presence anymore.

[She looks up at him.] Didn't you already see an angel die?

Yes. I don't know what happened to her, though; they're very...picky about who they tell things to.

Castiel told me. It was an accident.

[A pause.] On Azarath, they called my mother Arella. It means messenger angel. ...She's the only angel I ever believed in.

Then he unbuttons his shirt to show her the burn on his chest; it's vaguely wing-shaped, and healing into a scar, which is strange for him. Nothing scars a vampire.]

See. It's not so bad. She...died in my arms. I should have guessed if she really was an angel, it wouldn't go well for me. Castiel saved me.

[He puts his arm around her, his chin on top of her head.] I didn't believe in them either. At all. I wanted to, I suppose, but life seemed too strange for something as simple as religion.

You would have stayed anyway. [She knows Horst, that is part of what makes him so special to her.] Yeah, he does that.

[She nuzzles his neck, just a bit.] In my world, some people think superheros are angels who protect the city. But that's just plain silly.
