[Horst has been up late playing around with the PCD, trying to figure out more of it. But he looks exhausted, and not just because he's tried to stay up.

He puts his hand on the door of his makeshift bedroom, but decides at the last minute not to open it; the sun's still up. Why is it still up?]

I'm sorry, I'm whining. Are you enjoying the sun?

It's alright, really. I wish they'd leave night alone, too. [She is a champion sleeper, after all.]

Do you want me to ask Mako-chan about finding a way to make some thick curtains to shut it out?

[Horst actually smiles at that; kudos, Usagi]

That would be nice, if she doesn't mind. The sun isn't moving, and I'm a little worried someone might open the door and hit me with sunlight. And then, well, I'd be a pile of dust. Not nearly as interesting as I am now.

I'm sorry; I still haven't had a chance to talk to your brother.

You shouldn't apologize for that, you should count yourself lucky. He's...not friendly.

But you said he might know something about how to turn you back.

Oh, yes. He's been looking into it...I hope. He's difficult to work with; are you sure you want to?

I want to. Because you said you want that, too.

...you're a good person, Usagi. [He's very tired and it's half mumbled and if he'd been awake he would've teasingly flirted. Enjoy earnest!Horst while you can.]

[She could have accepted him being a vampire and believed it didn't make him evil or a threat. She actually does. But when he doesn't want to be, she can't let it go.]

Maybe you can tell him I'd like to talk to him.

I will. [Small smile] I'll tell him to be nice to you, but he won't listen to me. Don't take it personally, all right?

Right... [She gives a slightly nervous smile because that's not exactly reassuring.]

[Aw now he feels bad.]

He's nothing you can't handle!

Right. We both want to help you. We'll get along for that.

[Horst nods. It's better than explaining that Johannes doesn't want to help him, he just sees it as a scientific opportunity.]

And of course I'll make sure to cheer you up if he gets to be too much.

We'll figure it out. And I'm sure you'll cheer me up like you say.

Hey, maybe I can even talk your boyfriend--what's his name, by the way?--into letting me give you a proper massage.

He's Chiba Mamoru.

[He won't really ask. He's got his hands full with Cloud, after all. But he grins.]

You look happier when you talk about him.

I do? I guess that's normal. He's my boyfriend, after all.

[He's not sure what to make of that response]

Mmhmm! Actually, we had a date recently.

Did you? Gossip with me, how'd it go?

It was fun. But I like every chance to see him and talk to him.

What did you two do?

If I ever get around to dating again, I'll need ideas on what to do here. It's all a bit...bleak.
